My Witch Doctor
May or may not dance with a mask on, or do voodoo.
Summon spirits, asked no ritualistic killings for my benefit.
Shaking bones and chanting things I cannot say.
Wierd and wonderful colorful character advises.
Prescribes some ginger under tounga as do hand stand.
I can’t do hand stands so gave some garlic instead.
Across the ages, old wives tales tally, take on apprentice.
A bright and deep eyed anyone, with the magic within.
Patient enough to learn, and then to apply and explain.
What is poison in correct quantities can on the other foot heal.
On every continent call these magicians what you will.
Herbs and berries, roots and hooves, horns ground to powder.
Some cook it in a couldren, wear funny hats, fly brooms.
Indeed over time experiments have failed, emerging.
Always at the cutting edge, laying unconscious, hopeful.
