A gesticulated treat.
Busking
The gigs history page has much of the past. As for the future, my son was given by my mum a drum kit for his 2nd birthday. We are going to get out there together and melt some hearts. His friend Bodhi- also 2, and his dad have also been invited to join the band.
Solo and other collaborations on the street also a sure thing.
Festivals
I was busking in Byron town during a festival, this chick was watching for a bit then got this dude to come over. He was a talent agent for festivals, thinking a bit between acts. For some reason I convinced him that my stuff was maybe too political but gave him my details.
I won’t do that again, and the breadth of work created since means can mold to a degree to the occasion. Have performed at many smaller festivals and environmental themed events, the gesticulating style would blow people away at writers festivals! An aim is to integrate more with music, this will make poetry more approachable.
Band
I’ve been collecting musicians for a while, jamming, recording. Nothing is fixed yet- other than with the youth mentioned above. An exciting time, wanted to release the freEbooks first. Now that they are out, let other dream dominoes progress.
Open Mics, Radio, TV.
Now that finally the freEbooks are complete, attention can turn again to getting it out there, being out there and going further. Busting into promotion, exposing the tip of the iceburg.
Hitting the open mic circuit in Byron Bay opens to the traveller scene, people from all over the planet coming through to get a taste of Australias “alternative capital” where the streets are named after poets.
Radio shows are always fun, our local station BayFM has had me on heaps over the ages- thanks Riddhi, The Last Poet In Byron Bay (RIP!), Andy, Dan, Karena, Nyck and Pavitar. Awesome also being on with Daniel O’Brien in Wellington, N.Z. It is time to get back on the airwaves, interviews welcome. And i don’t watch t.v. but should get on yours somehow soon.
Poetry Workshops
Workshops have been hosted at Southern Oracle Festival, Mullumbimby and Byron Bay Vacation Care for many years , and recently also at the Arteria’s English Language Classes in San Cristobal, Mexico.
Workshops with performance for English and drama classes is on the cards. To enable English language students to delve more into the language through poetry, wonderful interesting sentences and words that students will enjoy learning and sharing.
Stunts
I don’t know what may happen here, but being a street performer you need a bit of cheek. To stand out in whichever ways, nonviolent of course, but yes, spectacles await. TBC.
